Advanced Energy Storage
for Renewable Energy Technologies
Solar and wind energy are great renewable energy options when the sun is shining and the wind is blowing. But how do you harness their energy when the sun is absent (at nights) or when there is no wind?
Energy storage is becoming a critical enabling technology in order to make renewable energy technologies like solar and wind more applicable and useful during both days & nights.
For example, energy storage using batteries is being explored as a possible storage option when the Sun is shining or the wind is blowing. The stored excess energy is then released during nights or when there is no wind.
Other ways to store energy is through electrochemical means. Other option is to convert gaseous fuels into liquid fuels thereby increasing their handelability and calorific value.
Ceramatec is exploring several different solutions in the area of energy storage. Click on the links to learn more about Ceramatec advanced energy storage for renewable energy technologies.
